Terms of Service

1. The service

PatternAlarm is a row-counter and pattern-reminder app for knitters and crocheters, built by an independent developer ("we", "us"). It helps you track rows and alerts you before rows where your pattern changes.

PatternAlarm is a memory aid, not a substitute for reading your own pattern. We do our best to alert you accurately based on the rules you enter, but we can't guarantee an alert will always arrive — see Section 6. You're responsible for double-checking your work, especially on rows that matter.

2. Accounts & Sign in with Apple

You can use PatternAlarm fully without an account. If you choose to sign in with Apple to enable Sync, you're responsible for keeping that Apple ID secure — anyone with access to it can access your synced data. You can permanently delete your account and all synced data at any time from Settings → Data & Privacy.

3. Free tier & PatternAlarm Pro

The free tier lets you create a limited number of projects over the lifetime of your install. PatternAlarm Pro removes that limit and unlocks additional features, offered as:

Annual subscription

• Includes a 3-day free trial, then renews automatically at the price shown in the app.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase (or at the end of the trial, if you don't cancel first).
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the same price unless changed and disclosed to you beforehand.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device). Cancelling stops future renewals but doesn't refund the current period.
• Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.

Lifetime purchase

• A one-time, non-renewing purchase that unlocks Pro permanently on your Apple ID.

Refunds

All purchases are billed by Apple through the App Store. Refund requests are handled by Apple under their own policies — we don't have the ability to issue refunds directly. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

4. Acceptable use

Use PatternAlarm for its intended purpose. Don't reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app; don't attempt to circumvent the free-tier limits or purchase validation; don't use the sync service to store or transmit anything unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights; don't attempt to disrupt or overload our backend services.

5. Your content

Your project names, pattern notes, and any other content you enter remain yours. We don't claim ownership of it, and we don't access it except as needed to operate the app and, if you enable Sync, to store and transmit it on your behalf.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

PatternAlarm is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every alert will be delivered — notifications can be delayed or suppressed by your device's settings (Do Not Disturb, Focus modes, notification permissions, low-power mode, force-quitting the app, or the device being off). To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of PatternAlarm — including a missed alert, a project you had to unravel and redo, or data loss. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Termination

You can stop using PatternAlarm at any time by deleting the app, or delete your account and data in-app (Settings → Data & Privacy). We may suspend or terminate access to the sync service for accounts that violate Section 4. Deleting the app or your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription — cancel it separately in your Apple ID settings.

9. Changes

We may update the app and these Terms over time. If we make material changes to these Terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use PatternAlarm after a change means you accept the update.

10. Apple as a third-party beneficiary

These Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. However, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and — once you accept them — Apple has the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer-protection law in your country requires otherwise.
